The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (11) that there were 32,128 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Taiwan, including 31,854 local cases and 274 imported cases; 29 new deaths were confirmed among the confirmed cases.
The command center said that there were 31,854 new local cases today, including 14,618 males, 17,225 females, and 11 cases under investigation; the age ranged from under 5 years old to over 90 years old; the cases were distributed in New Taipei City (6,375 cases), Taichung City (4,220 cases), Taipei City (3,959 cases), Taoyuan City (3,404 cases), Kaohsiung City (2,588 cases), Tainan City (1,796 cases), Changhua County (1,524 cases), Hsinchu County (953 cases), Hsinchu City City (824 cases), Miaoli County (803 cases), Pingtung County (799 cases), Yunlin County (749 cases), Yilan County (738 cases), Keelung City (686 cases), Nantou County (562 cases), Hualien County (542 cases), Chiayi County (455 cases), Chiayi City (303 cases), Taitung County (279 cases), Kinmen County (168 cases), Penghu County (118 cases), Lianjiang County (9 cases).
The command center pointed out that there were 29 new deaths from local cases today, including 14 males and 15 females, aged in their 50s to over 90s. All had severe infections, 28 had a history of chronic disease, 20 hadn’t received the recommended 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccine and 16 hadn’t received any doses at all. The date of diagnosis was from July 11 to September 8, 2022, and the date of death was from August 25 to September 8. Please refer to the attachment to the press release for details.
The command center stated that among the 274 new cases of immigration today, 131 were male and 143 were female, aged between 5 and 80 years old, from Vietnam (8 cases), Cambodia (5 cases), Australia (3 cases), Spain, Malaysia and India (2 cases each), Turkey, the Netherlands, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Philippines (1 case each), and another 247 infected countries are under investigation. The entry date is from August 5 to September 10 this year.
According to the statistics of the command center, up to now, there have been 16,752,201 cases of novel coronavirus pneumonia-related notifications in China (including 11,067,214 excluded), of which 5,682,133 were confirmed, including 30,662 imported cases, 5,651,417 local cases, 36 Dunmu fleet, 3 aircraft infections, 1 case is unknown and 14 cases are under investigation. Since 2020, a total of 10,284 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, of which 10,268 are local. The counties and cities of the cases are distributed in New Taipei City with 2,177 cases, Taipei City with 1,146 cases, Taichung City with 1,035 cases, Kaohsiung City with 966 cases, Tainan City with 789 cases and Taoyuan City. 779 cases in Changhua County, 415 in Pingtung County, 323 in Yunlin County, 302 in Nantou County, 256 in Miaoli County, 243 in Chiayi County, 224 in Keelung City, 210 in Yilan County, 172 in Hualien County, There are 165 cases in Chiayi City, 163 cases in Hsinchu County, 146 cases in Taitung County, 106 cases in Hsinchu City, 29 cases in Penghu County, and 19 cases in Kinmen County; the other 16 cases were imported from abroad.
The command center once again calls on the public to complete vaccinations as soon as possible, implement personal protective measures such as hand hygiene, cough etiquette and wearing masks, reduce unnecessary movements, activities or gatherings, and avoid going to crowded places or high risk of infection transmission and actively cooperate with various epidemic prevention measures, download and use the “Taiwan Social Distancing APP”, and jointly strictly guard the community defense line.
