Why not? Despite all the side effect would you rather have a miniscule risk of blood clots, maybe taking a day off for the vaccine side effects, or catching covid, not die but wish you were?
There are so called long covid which is greatly reduced lung function, semi permanent loss of taste and smell, brain fog, and not to mention a much higher chance of blood clots.
I think the choice is pretty simple.
Even if the vaccine does not stop you from catching covid it reduces its lethality to basically zero and you wonât have long covid.
Iâm really amazed at how ridiculously few Taiwanese people have got vaccinatedâdespite having the red carpet rolled out for them.

I arrived at Far Eastern at 12:30, filled out the papers, was vaccinated at 2, then paid 600nt and left at 2:30.
I didnât feel the shot, maybe a little drowsy now probably from my own anxiety about getting the vaccine.
Pretty much the same here.
More people started wearing a mask on the street now, no need for vaccines.
I wonder if itâs been pointed out that these are not either/or means of protection.

Sometimes there are advantages in being old. People even offer me a seat on the train or bus. 
But I cant rush to get my free shot just yet, as I am having a Cataract removed on Monday - the shot can hang on for a few days.
More people actually started wearing a mask on the street. The no vaccine thing was being sarcastic.

Iâm on day two after the first shot. Went in with the SO yesterday. Self pay at $600 is cheap. A little soreness in the arm that came on in the evening but was gone by morning. I donât feel anything now.
Iâll be sure to rub it in to my workers who are waiting for the homegrown vaccine.
I think it was Robin Williams in âPatch Adamsâ who said, âLetâs check out the maternity wardâŚyou know they put out.â
At least youâd know they are like minded when it comes to serious things like vaccinating.

Iâd be weirded out if people came up to talk to me to strike a conversation in the hospital.
I had the AZ jab last Thursday afternoon, so itâs now been a week.
Thursday evening was fine, but on Friday morning I woke up with a fairly bad headache and feeling light-headed and very low energy. No fever though. The doctor had warned for some people it might be a bit like a hangover, and he wasnât wrong! I spent the day doing not very much. I held off from taking a painkiller until Friday evening, and then a paracetamol cleared it up quite rapidly.
(There have been some suggestions that it might be a good idea to avoid taking painkillers, anti-histamines, cold medicines and some other medication during the 24 hours following the jab, as they might lessen the immune response.)
Over the following few days, I still felt fairly low energy and light-headed, though the headache was gone. Then on Sunday evening I noticed an interesting red rash of about 15cm diameter had appeared on my arm, a few centimetres below the injection site. This has faded day by day (but is still just about visible today). I also got some cold symptoms (nasal congestion, sore throat).
I measured my temperature everyday, but no fever throughout.
As of today (a week later), I still donât feel back to 100%. There is some lingering âbrain fogâ at times. My gym workouts are still below my usual levels, and I find that I am running out of energy more quickly. But these effects are lessening as time goes on.
Iâd still get the jab, even if I knew about the side-effects before. They arenât that bad, and having the vaccine gives some piece of mind.
My brother has also had AZ in the UK (both doses), but he experienced no side-effects at all, apart from feeling a little tired during the 24 hours after. So I was a little surprised that my reaction has been so different.
Several of my Taiwanese friends have also had the jab, and all have had either no side-effects, or very mild ones. The doctor told one of them that Asian people generally seem to be experiencing less severe side-effects compared to westerners.
