Ha, ha! How about if you miss your turn you go to the end of the line? Next!
It’s easy to think up ways to minimize vaccine hesitancy. I wonder if I can volunteer to be a Vaccine Hesitancy Minister?
Short of smashing all the oldsters’ Line accounts, I suspect it will be challenging.

Make the vaccination clinics compete with each other. One puts an inflatable duck outside. The next a cardboard cutout of trump. Get some Japanese/Korean influencers to go there and talk about how amazing it feels as the needle goes in. With surprised and delighted expressions like they do for everything they put in their mouth. Then you get one doctor to go on a chat show. He is now famous. So everyone wants him. They can’t get him so they go to the doctor down the street who used to work for him. Easy peasy.
It’s amazing no one has put us in charge of government policy here. ![]()

Y’all are looking to spend way too much on this. Free ziplock bag full of minced onions with every vaccine. That’ll do it.
BigDave, I think you just kicked my ass with your idea.
Pay a bunch of people to line up outside a store.
Have some free sausages giveaway beside the line so the aroma wafts down the street…
When they come over tell them you get in line for buy one get two free toilet paper and multivitamins , this morning only.
As soon as they get to the entrance watch as they motor as fast as they can to the back where the free shit lies piled up like the pyramid of Giza, as they get close jab them in the arm and flip them dazed out through a revolving door. Next !
More fallout from the “Good Liver Clinic” scandal in Taipei City earlier this month:
Guy
Wow
The clinic reportedly administered some 1,000 shots to people who were not on the CECC’s priority list, and it also managed to obtain an additional 1,150 doses from the three officials at the Taipei health department, according to Shen.
Says they are investigating 3 officials but seems like more needs to be done. Why only a fine, the clinic should face significantly harsher punishment.
Still haven’t seen anything from the people who jumped the line to get the vaccine with their connections do anything except a half-baked “I can do better” or “I ‘volunteer’ at the clinic” excuse. Maybe there is some more news in the local papers but some of the rich folks that jumped the line could at least donate some money to help buy hospital equipment or food or something…
Heck it would have been great if those rich people just flew to the U.S. to get the dang shot, means one less person that needs to be vaccinated in Taiwan!
These cats now have 1000 big outstanding favours from 1000 connected influential people. An NT4mil fine is still gutless and pathetic.
Vent away, guys!
Remember: any one of these cheap celebs could have secured their first dose for around NT$600 like many forumosans did.
Well played, cheap celebs! Now you’re part of a scandal!
Guy
Some entertainers/singers have been going to the U.S. for vaccines if I remember correctly…not sure what the local reaction was but every time I see that I think great! Same with even foreigners who are going back to their home country or U.S. to get vaccinated for whatever reason it may be…don’t feel like going somewhere else to get vaccinated makes someone a coward…again it all means that less people in line to get the shot here and people here can get their shot sooner.
But for these rich folks…too cheap for a 600NTD shot, probably to cheap to buy a ticket to get one of the “good” vaccines in a different country.
The celebs said they got a call from the clinic to go and get vaccinated in the middle of the night. Nothing will happen to them
There was a reporter asking elderly waiting for the shot “aren’t you scared? Don’t you suffer from any chronic ailments?” You could see the light going out of amah’s eyes and panic starting to creep in.
Journalistic “ethics” here is, well, not quite where it should be.
In happier news, our de facto ambassador to the US, Hsiao Bi-khim, takes a page out of the Frank Hsieh playbook, this time in Memphis Tennessee:

Just a few hours to go!
I wonder if there is a military escort?
We could ask our best source lately @BeachBum if she’s heard anything.
