Honestly she has never disappointed before. Her work is on point.

The point is there should be a choice. I would personally take anything not Chinese but the government should not be forcing any specific vaccine.
In the US, people didnāt have a choice initially. The only reason thereās a choice in the US now is because thereās a huge vaccine surplus.
TW isnāt going to be in that situation any time soon, if ever. People wanting to wait for the better vaccine is one of the reasons TW is in the mess itās in now.
I note that the whole āJapanese AZā thing has gone completely silent since China said they wouldnāt allow it to happen. No more statements from CECC. Nothing from Japan either.
I hope thatās a good thing and things are happening behind closed doors.
Iāll be so disappointed, but not surprised, if AZ or Japan caves into Chinese pressure
Tsai is often nicknamed after water spinach ē©ŗåæč (empty vegetables) for her āemptyā remarks.
And a lot of Americans refuse vaccines here
They have to offer incentives in many states
As Taiwan begins to import a variety of vaccines and prepares to release its own, there is a growing public demand to be able to choose the brand when self-paid vaccinations resume. At a press conference on Tuesday, Health Minister and CECC Head Chen Shih-chung (é³ęäø) appeared to acquiesce to this demand for the first time.
Given TWās situation, self-paid vaccinations shouldnāt be resuming for the next 10 years.
It seems like Pfizer/BNT and Moderna might cause thrombocytopenia but people just stopped looking into it.
Follow the money!
That was only 2 days ago. Thereās no new news to report about it. Japan is hopefully negotiating the no-transfer clause. Letās wait and see before we declare it DOA.
Local vaccines are the solution. Foreign vaccines will come to Taiwan at the pace that poor countries get them.
They werenāt her remarks. Try harder.
Honestly she has never disappointed before. Her work is on point.
Many think this way about her.
If Fan Yun is the villain in this, Audrey Tang is the hero. Everything she comes up with is brilliant and intuitive.
This is also related to Tsaiās policy / wonkish sideāgetting people like Audrey in the cabinet and setting up a proposed Ministry of Digital Development.
Who knows how this will play out in terms of coordination / implementation? But itās obviously good to have smart folks such as Audrey around.

Looks like the new vaccine registration system will be similar to the mask ordering through the official NHI app.
You need a ~200-300 TWD smartcard reader to authenticate with your NHI card once.
č”č±ę Tsai Ing-wen @iingwen
Do we all need to purchase these smart card readersāor is there some place we can get this authentication done?
Guy
All NHI cardholders can use the vaccine appointment reservation system.
I do like that statement!
Donāt think Iāve seen this figure posted yet, but first thing in English Iāve seen that shows how many 2nd dose vaccinations have been administered. When talking about % of population vaccinated we should probably specify between fully vaccinated vs. having received one dose to avoid confusion going forward as more people start to become fully vaccinated.
So as of yesterday there is ~0.05% of the population is fully vaccinated.
Taipei, June 1 (CNA) Health Minister Chen Shih-chung (é³ęäø) on Tuesday said the government is mulling whether to allow people who wish to receive COVID-19 vaccines under the self-paid vaccination program to choose which brand they are administered.

The link on Audreyās post is for masks distribution, not vaccine appointment.
Is the system online yet?
Just ask your friends. Someone will have one already.
