Another slow day yesterday - the calm before the BNT storm in a week or so I guess.
18,895 doses given yesterday, of which 14,006 were second doses. 936,339 are now fully vaccinated.

There should be over 200,000 Medigen and about the same Moderna. AZ would be pretty low as last weeks arrival probably hasn’t been released yet.
Next round is supposed to be AZ so one presumes that the numbers will be up again?

Some confusing reports doing the rounds about another Vaccine donation to come from Japan. Numbers vary from 440,000 to 60,000 . Time will tell I guess.

Liberty Times says 60 to 70 thousand.
According to Yahoo, total donation to Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam is 440 thousand doses.

Not nearly as big as their previous million plus donations, but beggars can’t be choosers I guess. Still very cool of Japan giving us all these donations, but just goes to show how lacking our supply is in their absence. They really saved our butts at the beginning of the outbreak.

Some “HorseTrading” of Vaccines is going on, as some countries have too much and its going to expire on them, while others have orders in (like Taiwan does) and would like it to arrive “Tomorrow”. Australia has just done two such deals with BNT - 500K from Singapore, and 4M from the UK. Australia gets their excess now and its orders, when filled, go to Singapore and the UK.
Don’t be surprised if Taiwan (and others) are up to something similar.

yes im surprised we havent already dont that. UK has 197 million vaccines for the year(including those not arrived).
