Coronavirus Vaccine in Taiwan - September/October 2021

Unless tomorrow a huge Delta wave broke out.

Poor planning as always…

It was well organized this morning. I had a 9-10am window for my Moderna 2nd shot, got there about 8 after seeing yesterday’s scramble. So well organized today, got my shot at 0840 and was ushered out before 9. Mind you, the line was back to the MRT Station by then. Seems that many decide that its first in first served, no matter what booking window you have.

The queue from the MRT Station as I was leaving. It was moving though, maybe only 20 mins to get to the front.

Glad you were finally able to get your second shot.

Seems our vaccine supply shortage is over. The numbers are looking good.

But it wouldn’t help would it? You don’t magically get protection once the needle and the damage is done, to shoehorn a bit of Neil Young in there.

All I know is pre-paid vax was immediately cancelled when the May outbreak happened. Things change quick sometimes, so people have FOMO. Not excusing people acting like animals though. At least here people WANT the vaccine though, and it’s not like in the states where you have to have mandates to protect those that are desperate to prove Darwin’s law.

You didn’t even need to be drinking to come up with that. I’m very impressed. (I’m assuming you weren’t drinking at 10 am.)

Just preparing the first fix of the day.

Heroin. It’s my life and it’s my wife.

Btw, so I got my second shot. Can anyone recco a good detox for me?

I’ll take a six pack.

You have a one hour time slot, why would you come early and just sit there.

That’s my point… The issue is they encourage this type of behavior. See yinggeaussie post. He/she showed up early and got the shot early. This just encourages people to show up early.

I didn’t show up early with intent to jump the queue. I was just wary after the show yesterday and allowed myself the extra time. As it worked out, the show was well organized today and it flowed much faster. Mind you, never did they appear to check the assigned timeslots, or booking number, I followed the same person all the way, likewise the one behind me was the same all the way. If my slot was 3-4pm it probably would not made any difference what time I showed up, as long as it was before closing time.

Even the best laid plans succumb to stubborn elderly folk.

Wanhua, cough cough.

Probably because the age range was lower, less entitled elderly, younger people listen and follow instructions, do not make their own rules.

I blame viagra for that. Or snake bile. Maybe both.

My point is that if you show up on time, you should be able to get to the front of the line and say i’m reporting here on time and they let you in to get your shot. You shouldn’t have to wait at the end of the line behind all the people that were there ahead of their scheduled time.

Think of it like boarding a plane. You can stand at the gate long before they are ready to board. But when the time comes, they are still going to call group by group or section by section. And if you are not in those sections or groups, you will keep waiting. So there is little point in standing there before your group is called unless you just want to be the first of your group.

It should be first come, first served and they should be funneled in through a single gate then spread out into separate vaccination lines inside.

No.

Appointments only.

There should be an initial checkpoint where if you are there before your scheduled appointment, you get sent to a huge waiting area to sit until your time slot is called. When your time comes up you line up with all others in your designated time.
