I’m currently in the states and was looking to replace my eyeglass lenses as they are pretty scratched up. The stores in my area are charging $400+ for progressive lenses. As I will be visiting Taiwan shortly I was thinking I’d have them replaced there if it’s cheaper. Can someone tell me what a it would roughly cost in Taiwan? TIA
I don’t have progressives, but have reading prescription and normal prescription (changing darker when outside) glasses. At most paid about U$100-150 on top end.
There are so many eyeglass stores in Taiwan that you can visit 4 nearby each other and get rough estimates. U$400 glasses could probably get you brand-name frames.
Recommend buy 2 pairs to take back, in case 1 breaks.
I got my progressives here for around $2,500NTD ($80USD). I don’t care about designer frames and all that, just something that will let me see. I got them here:

I was impressed with their service at such a low price. I’ve been told this chain is popular among “starving students.” Perfect for me because last time I paid $15,000NTD at some boutique style eyewear place (those were transition lenses as well as progressive)
