Costco credit card

They can also issue cards based off of your bank balance which is what they did in the rush to issue out as many cards as possible in the shortest amount of time.

Banks don’t like to use this method as the credit limit will be low. But it saves time.

Well, I actually have the card in my greedy hands so I shut up now. Let’s count it from last month when I handed them representatives paper copies of desired info.

Limit is a bit higher than Cathay, who would have guessed?

I got it. We’re good. That’s all.

for me same exact limit as Cathay (and strangely enough, same limit across all my fubon cards). it’s enough for costco only, so I’m satisfied.

Indeed. I am already spending way too much in Costco.

I guess my credit rating might be improving. This is my sixth card, the limit is not ridiculous like Citibank but rather half of say Chinatrust.

I’m going there to buy cheese and bras, not a car.

I asked about Costco credit cards and they told me that I just need to keep a balance of 20,000nt to get it.

I’m going to try in a few months if my finances allow for it, but I’d also have to renew my costco membership.

I don’t care if I only have a 5000nt limit, that’s all I need at the moment anyways.

Yeah I got my new Fubon card. Did not supply any income or bank statement in Taiwan.
Got 250K limit on the Titanium Business card. They told me the company cards are taking longer due to number of applications. My wife got her personal Fubon card limit 60K based on her April house tax document only.

White privilege lol

Absolutely. They saw my white dude photo along with company name and Taiwan ID card and said yeah, sounds fair enough, this guy should get a nice credit limit.

Whenever I fill up with gas in the dodgy areas of New Zealand the gas attendants now check to see if am white through the glass.

If I’m white I can pay later (once I finished filling up). If I am colored I have to prepay and then fill up. Even tested that theory with an dark cousin of mine… He drove the nicer car too.

New Zealand is a non racist progressive country. Ranked 6th… just ahead of Switzerland…

Being a Pakeha has its benefits.

I was playing around on the Fubon Coscto app today. Unfortunately it’s only in Chinese.
There is one section where I can increase or decrease my credit limit. Just enter some details and apply for it to be changed. Better I use the card first but I don’t need a higher limit that’s for sure.

Tried to apply today but they wouldn’t let me without a passport.

Taiwanese wife would have been able to with ID and health card.

Annoying

For foreigners copy of the passport is required unless u r already a client of the bank (having account or another card with them) since they already have that on record.

It’s a regulatory requirement.

I asked the credit card guy at Costco just now about income requirements. I needed to know since they changed banks if the requirement changed. They said I just needed 20,000nt in my bank account if I don’t have any verifiable income or properties to my name, which is the same as the last bank.

I just got around to it today, went to the instore desk in XiZhi, employee was very helpful and just asked that I bring my APRC and passport next time, nothing else required as long as you’ve been employed for more than a year and paid tax in Taiwan as they can look up your salary from tax details. They’ll take a photo onsite if you want a photo on the card, didn’t mention whether the application needs to be signed with a Chinese name or not but assume so. Said turn around would be a couple of weeks. Also said there is no annual fee even if you do not use the card (From what I read this is only for the first year though so perhaps a little saleman’s white lie). Don’t see any point in the world card as there’s nothing additional that I need, intend apply for the middle, black card, version. Anyone apply recently and have the same experience?

Only if you have electronic billing

Shop in PX mart and KFC Taiwan with fubon-costco card really no cashback of costco dollar. Did someone have same issue?

Cashback of Costco dollars is limited to Costco shopping.

But the credit card can be used anywhere. At least thats my understanding.

That was the same for the old one too, as I recall.

There are a ton of exceptions to point earning.
