Costco credit card

Update. It seems to be a translation breakdown. The issue is not with foreign people, but with foreign Costco Memberships. IDK why the website screenshot I took also has incorrect wording, but another rep at a different store took all my application details and sent it along. Like others above, they told me it’ll be a couple months before anything happens. Point is though, the website and reps should say they will only approve Costco Taiwan Memberships, not Costco International Memberships. Will update in the future if I end up actually getting a card. See you in July lol.

Ok, that’s a different scenario indeed

Well that’s stupid. Instead of Fubon getting richer my US CitiBank will get my money.

Well they have a captive market. We need the credit card to buy online and also I think to get the points for not having to pay annual membership.

I heard that I can use my US Costco credit card online but US membership does not qualify for online membership.

Can you use US Costco credit cards in store?

Yes. I use my US credit card here. Only issue I have is the yearly rebate can not be cashed here. The rebate check does expire but if you spend the full amount you can still use it.

I got it in the mail today. Time to get rid of the Cube Cathay sent me. Thanks for all the help.

For those still waiting or will never get approved… I just wanted to show you what it’s like to hold one of them in your hand

You expecting a round of applause…? I can only offer a slow clap.

I really can’t follow what is happening? Is the card hard to get?

I got a call today from Fubon saying the card is approved. Expect it in the mail in a few days/weeks. Just wait.

Told the guy that as long as the card can be used by the deadline - August is it?- I’m cool.

Not at all. Actually mine was approved a while ago. It’s just that I am seeing some are told it will take 2 months due to the backlog. And I had the card sitting on my desk and thought I would take a photo so everyone who is waiting can admire it

That is a dud anyway. No numbers on it.

Doesn’t look like it from the requirements above? I have cards from the UK etc. that seem better and less hassle and I prefer using cash anyway, so haven’t had reason to apply. Maybe later in the year if I can be bothered.

And how long did yours take?

My wife applied and then they asked to provide shit-ton of documents. She refused and told them to get lost. Later they called her up and tried to explain they need it to give more credit. She did not agree and told them to just give the minimum. Later they called and accepted just the last payslip.
Yesterday she got the card with 200k limit

They actually had a lot of complaints early on because they gave the minimum of $10,000 or even lower so they started asking applicants for more details in order to stop the complaints.

They are acting strange since all banks, Fubon included, always just asked for a bank deposit slip copy for 3 months or payroll slips. It’s really odd how they are acting based on what others are saying.
