If you look up the cases where people actually were fined under that provision of the law, you’ll see things along the lines of the government is covering up zillions of covid deaths at Hospital X. I assumed people here at the site were generally sophisticated enough to understand that the law was intended for that sort of thing, which does have a tendency to happen, especially on the interwebs.
However, one or two people repeatedly quoted the law in arguments over whether or not Vaccines Are Safe And Effective, seeming to imply that if you openly disagree you are thereby breaking the law. I had some discussion with the mods about that behind the scenes and was not satisfied that those one or two people were correctly interpreting the law. If they’re no longer invoking it, I suppose it’s moot now.
