😷 COVID - Where to book quarantine hotels?

Is there a centralised site with info on where and how to book quarantine hotels?

I’m planning on going back home for xmas and returning to Taiwan in January, but finding it hard to get the right information.

Yeah, it’s a confusing mess. I’m in the US now and will be coming back early January. I couldn’t have put all this together without the help of Taiwanese coworkers.

Here is where you reserve a government group quarantine facility, but be aware the ones in your area may be all booked out. I had to get one in the south despite living in the north. Click the part that says " [Government Quarantine Facility reservation information(self-paid) click here].

If you want a regular hotel (non gov’t), good luck. I searched for a month and finally decided to forego all the stress and just do the gov’t facility (it was still stressful, but at least I didn’t have to sift through countless listings just to find they were all booked out for my dates). This is where you lookfor regular non-gov’t hotels. Click the city name in the center and you’ll see a list of hotels.

A word of caution: Don’t use Agoda.com to search for regular quarantine hotels, or if you do, MAKE SURE the one you’re looking at is a quarantine hotel for SURE. They set their site up to make it look like the listings on your page are all quarantine hotels, but they’re not. How do I know? I booked one, realized my error (never buy in a moment of stress), and was able to get it cancelled with no charge.

Booked!

I have managed to get in the gov group quarantine up north, arriving beginning of January. How did you make a note of the reference when you paid? It doesn’t ask for your email address to send details to, so I’ve had to make a screen grab of the confirmation. Feels pretty dumb that they don’t do that, unless I messed up somewhere.

Good for you!! I’m so glad I could help.
Screen grab should be fine. I thought the same thing. It’s seems unofficial, but it’s just the way they’re doing it. The little booking number they gave you is all you need. You can also check the status of your booking from somewhere around one of links I gave you.
You’re so lucky! I don’t know why my page told me ‘no available days for your dates’ when I tried to do North. That and Central were supposedly booked out on the day I did my booking (the first day it opened), so I started stressing out and was like ‘fine, let’s do south.’
I was so worried the taxi fee from the airport to the south would be astronomical, but my bf checked and found it ought to be a fixed rate of no more than 2000. We’ll see!

Sweet. You got a regular hotel, then?

No no. Government centre.

Well, damn. There must have been an error when I was booking. Either that, or the system was overloaded since it was twenty minutes from opening for booking.
Realllly hope the whole ‘fixed rate taxi’ thing is true. Don’t want to fork out an arm and a leg getting to and from this place just because I believed the website when it told me that anywhere closer was all booked up.

Two separate people trying to return to Taiwan have said that quarantine hotels are full until March. And they are stuck outside Taiwan.

Is this true?

Has it been announced or in the news or anything?

Quarantine hotels are full. They were full for me too. But the government is opening quarantine centres at a rapid pace.

So I went with the government quarantine.

So they’re not ‘stuck’, they’re being picky.
