maybe costco tell fubon please no bargain for everyone give decent limit, then everyone can ton shopping at costco
Some of the foreigners on this forum with the Business Titanium card were given NT$300K limits… in the coscto thread. Also in the Fubon app you there is a section to increase your credit limit.
I was only given 80k. Jobless wife given much bigger limit.
May I ask if it is easy to get a credit card with the deposit as collateral?
e.g., I deposit and lock 60k and get a credit card with the same limit?
I heard some banks do that. But that defies the purpose of a credit card, where the bank is supposed to give you credit. 
In my personal case, I would pick the top 3 reasons for that:
- Build my credit score
- Fraud protection
- Lower qualification requirements
(also, in the case of a Fubon card I could shop Costco’s stuff online)

Yes, it has all the benefits, depending on which card you pick. I went to Mega Bank, and limit is 70% of the deposit 
The best part of it is that they will approve/disprove the application at their discretion.
This is basically the reason for all the posts about FSC complaints etc. Suggest reading through those and doing the same.
If you’re giving a deposit, especially one larger than your that’s-not-actually-credit “credit” limit, you’re the one providing credit, not the bank.
Honestly, the bank teller is very young and it’s his first time doing this so I assumed he’s just parroting what he might’ve heard before. (I’ve overheard his phone calls to the higher-ups and they asked him twice “why are you calling, is this your first time doing it?” type of questions)
I read the thread already, and will contemplate on the complaint, if I get rejected I will 100% file it.
You might just need to say something like “discriminating against foreigners residing in Taiwan violates Article 62 of the Immigration Act and Article 7 of the Financial Consumer Protection Act, and if you require this because I’m a foreigner I’ll be reporting you to the FSC and MOI.”
Then you wait while they scramble around talking with colleagues and making phone calls. It’s quite fun.
And if they don’t relent, actually report them.

I do not live or work in HK. HSBC HK I have integrated accounts with. Recently got an HSBC Credit card with no deposit, which has very good cash back and air miles scheme. Same for my HSBC Debit card.

Exactly. I can get a Mega Bank credit card from an online application with no guarantor. There is no reason anyone else should not be able to.
You should complain to the MOI and FSC.
Chunghua is the worst, both them and Land Bank chased me out years ago saying ‘no foreigners’ for their credit card. I didn’t complain because I found better cards with rewards.
You want a relatively easy application with no deposit? Try KGI bank. Second easiest E. Sun. If you want to have some fun, give Changhua the shaft with a complaint 
Lucky me it’s where I get a salary. A couple of days ago, I went to enable the app; clerks were asking a security guard how to resolve e-banking issues. Confused at first, but as time went by I realized the security dud knows more than those bozos. Thought it was a parody, frl!
Fubon finally approved my costco co-branded card after I complained to FSC.
Anybody know how to sign up for online banking/app?
Went to warehouse to apply.
Communicated in person for submitting application, then thru Line, email and phone calls.
Provided other local bank book, taiwan tax return, US bank statement, foreign pay slips.
Was initially rejected for no reason. They called and resumed the application after I complained to FSC.
Next is Richart Gogo card…
