Who knows, maybe for the challenge, and nobody really tries to scrutinize 10nt coins. I mean most the time the material and effort it takes to do it far exceeds the face value of the coin.

Isn’t that why bills are so much more common? Not even cheap. Though you still see enough 10s around. They tend to be pretty bad fakes from what I have gotten. But they work in older machines.
