I recently discovered the Culture Express magazine put out by the Taipei City Dept of Cultural Affairs and found it quite useful

It lists cultural events going on in Taipei, the locations, prices and times…and in Chinese, English and Japanese! Very nice to have a centralized source of information.

I got my copy at the Taipei City Visitor center in the underground mall between ChungHsiao FuXing and ChungHsiao DunHwa. They have a web site too, but it’s pretty poorly done… http://express.culture.gov.tw/

It’s also available in almost every MRT station each month.

They must’ve hired a new English editor recently as the English has improved a lot compared to last year’s issues. My only complaint about the publication is that it always comes out about a week into the month, so those events that take place early in the month are invariably too late to catch.
