The Garmin was working well for almost three years. I did regular updates and everything was great until about 6-7 months ago. It just started to take longer and longer to start up. Sometimes I was at my destination before the maps were loaded. Called customer service and was told it was a very easy problem to fix. Resetting to defaults only erases the user data and updates but does not fix the problem.
Connect the GPS to the PC and choose USB Mass Storage Mode. Archive folder in the Garmin OS area. Delete the Archive folder and the thing started as quick as it did when I first bought it. Thank you Kerry of Garman CS for your advice.
