Customs warning: ANY meat might cost you 10,000 NTD fine or more

You have all the right to complain that the signage is not clear/there is not enough information available/etc. I am bringing race into it because you are not being checked like the people coming from China. It is being assumed that as a big nose foreigner you would not bring say pork sausages from Guangdong, one of the hot areas, and hence, I am explining that is why you have it easy in Japan. It is not that this is a small concern or that Japan does not care. They focus on the Chinese.

This disease is a big deal, a huge economic loss and a potential disaster in terms of depriving everyone from pork. Ever. There is no cure and no vaccine for this. It spreads through air too fast. It remains in cooked items as a potential transmitter of disease. All over Asia, measures are being taken…since last year.
