It would be great if you added her picture! I’m not sure how to do that, though. Hopefully one of the more tech-savvy people can assist?
Please (for the cat’s sake) don’t give her away for free. Please consider charging something so that you hopefully weed out some of the people that will not take care of her and only want her because she’s free. If someone wants her, they should be able afford to put up $500 NT for her. If they can’t afford that then they probably can’t “afford” real cat food for the cat either.
Please don’t let her become someone’s free rat-catcher.

I call complete BS on charging a fee for adopting an animal. It’s hard enough to get animals adopted that I would prefer to talk to someone for 10-15 minutes to find out their intentions/ability to take care of an animal. Most people can’t take care of pets because either they have absolutely no clue what they are supposed to do or they just don’t care enough to put in the time.

I used to think the same, but the biggest problem-adoptions we had were with people who we actually paid to take an animal (we did that a couple of times in the early days), followed by those where the animal was given away for free. When people get a free animal, they believe they are doing you a favour and therefore you are indebted to them, and would quite happily threaten returning or even dumping the animal if you didn’t cater to their demands.
Furthermore, asking an adoption fee weeds out the bunchers; that is, people who do a very good job of convincing you that they are good, honest, animal-loving people but who are actually looking to make a quick buck from breeding the animal or selling it on to a laboratory or as food. Then of course there are the numerous serial animal torturers here who got all their kicks for free by adopting from people who weren’t wise enough to ask an adoption fee.
Your idea of talking to someone for a few minutes has been proven to be a bad one the world over, which is why asking an adoption fee is now the norm in animal rescue (although not so much here, but we’re trying to change that). The fact that the money can then be used to help more animals in distress is of course just as important but not the primary reason for asking a fee.
