Daily Photos - Part 6

Wow. Excellent B&W. :bravo:

I agree with JDS.

Great work.

Very effective contrast.

Very good pictures for the past few days! Kudos!
Guess what this is?

Thank you

Ive no idea what that is…mmmm I think its a close up of a CD Player, with the disc spinning.

I did this one the other day, when I was hungry.

I like it. Mine as a bottle taken from the top.

Some more lucky shots, from Friday (I was seasick and so just clicking away while trying to watch the horizon):

Fantastic shots, Stray Dog! :bravo: And done without even looking!

Lots of nice pics from everyone recently. Very nice portraits, Fortigurn!
And this one by Poagao is amazing:

I never cease to be impressed by Forumosa’s photographers.

I would have jumped overboard…Sweeeeeet.

Good grief, what a stunning collection. Obviously your timing wasn’t affected. And those colours are amazing. Did you do any PP? Where was this?

This was just off Turtle Island, on a whale-watching tour.

I used iPhoto to make adjustments to the contrast and exposure and to sharpen the images a little, and the purplish one is a result of clicking on the Enhance button (they all came out purple if I did that, but it suited that picture quite nicely).

The water really was very clear and very blue, and, because I had underexposed most of the shots, the colours enhanced beautifully when pushed. I also used a polarizing filter to reduce glare and help the colours pop.

Thanks for the nice comments. I love these images, but they really were lucky shots, as I was trying to avoid getting diced carrots on the dolphins most of the time (in fact, the better shots were the later ones when I was really having a hard time looking down).

More images here, but I’ve already posted the best ones: http://www.pbase.com/seanmccormack/dolphins

The ones with my feet in were on purpose, just to show that the dolphins were swimming right underneath us. Really!

I also love that picture of Poagao’s - very dreamy. Makes me want to walk towards the light …

Wow, amazing…they look so clear…and the water…clear…Turtle island you say hey???

hmmm…

I think it’s the best I’ve seen from him. Very atmospheric.

Great shots Stray Dog - maybe you should change your name to Stray Dolphin.

Turtle Island - hmm, looks like I’m going to have to go there soon.

I did rescue a dolphin once, in the Florida Keys …

If anyone is interested in going on this trip, it cost NT$899 and lasted two hours (they will stay longer but we found dolphins very quickly). Call Mr Lee on 0972 243 758. Meet in the Visitor Information Centre at TouCheng Harbour. Parking spaces are abundant. This trip left at 9.00 a.m., but I understand there are other times available depending on which day you go. Mr Lee speaks a little English, but you may need someone to translate just in case. I did some research to ensure that the operators respect the wildlife and environment, and Mr Lee was recommended to me.

I thought it was a fantastic way to spend a morning. The drive took 50 minutes from Shilin, going via Highway No. 1 to the No. 3, and then the Number 5 to Toucheng. I drove back via a swim at FuhLong Beach (31 kilometers up the coast) and late lunch at the lovely Monet Cafe in Pinglin. All that and still back in time for tea! Smile

Took a few impromptu wedding shots today at CKS Hall. The girls were really good sports. The groom looked like he was having second thoughts though.

Love the expression on the poor bastard in the 2nd and 3rd photos. The look of TOTAL DESPAIR!

Yeah, it was definitely Day of the Chicks. They were having a great time.

The bloke on the other hand seemed far less enthusiastic.
