A bit misleading. The BBC article, from 2014, doesn’t say anything about sucking people’s tongues.
In the 1950s, Mao Zedong introduced Communism into Tibet. Now Tibet has Socialism with Chinese Characteristics (whether that counts as real Communism is up for debate).
An 87 year old man sucking a 7 year old boy’s tongue is not cool, and they are not even related. What was his holiness thinking of?

I love how people are trying to say it’s their tradition and we are uncultured. I guess it’s Catholic tradition too.
