Decathlon store alternatives (medium priced outdoor clothing)

I’d like to know if there are some reasonably priced outdoor clothes stores around Taipei. Most of the ones I’ve seen are of small boutique type which have very high prices and stock mostly some local/Asian? brands (which might be quite good but that’s extra research).

I mention Decathlon because they theoretically fit the bill, what with the really low prices, but that in turn means their own brands, which are of questionable quality. I’m not saying they are complete rubbish, I have bought their stuff on occasion quite a few times, just looking for some alternatives.

For example, in the UK there’s a chain called Blacks which kinda stocks what I’m after (brands like Berghaus, Salomon, Marmot, Merrel, etc).

PS: I do know online stores exist  but these kind of goods I really like to check out myself

Here, and in my more comprehensive crawl of the shops in Kaohsiung, the thing is sales. That’s how I’d do it in Canada as well. Don’t expect great prices on high end gear, but if you put in the time to look around and recognize that reduced selection is a price that is easy to pay, there are deals in the sales sections.

My Asolo goretex hiking boots were only 4000NT, on sale, for example

There’s a chain store called Metro Oasis.
They have stores in many places, you can check which one is closer to you.

It’s a good alternative to Decathlon, although it usually has slightly higher prices than Decathlon.

I believe www.100mountain.com has physical locations.

Second this, they regularly have good discounts, particularly on end of season/range hiking shoes and boots.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I was a bit busy recently but will definitely check them out soon, especially the Metro Oasis.
