I only know that christmas song from him…they play that in 7eleven…and the beatles…they are sooooooo old
I think we’re only about 4.7 degrees away from someone who actually slept with a Beatle.
Too bad of you to choose this day to point your thoughts out. Something to consider - perhaps a thread re the anniversary of his murder wasn’t the time or place.

What an icon of history she was. I wish she’d been our prime minister.

I read that and I thought: Who the heck is Matto Grosso? I know some stuff. I mean, I know who Hayley Westenra is for cripes sake, but this Mr Grosso? So I google it and it’s the third largest state in Brazil. Brazil has states? Matto is made of limestone? So who created the Simpsons? Oh right, Groening.
I was talking with a Brazillian earlier in the year and she said some sentence that included the name of the Brazillian prime minister/ president. Of course, I haven’t a clue what the chaps name was or even is now, assuming it even is a chap. Yet she spoke as if this person should be universally known.
NOW… I am not defending GuyInTaiwan for wading in with his muddy boots and generally pissing the populace off with his ill timed observation, but there is something to be said for the phenomenon of thinking something is more popular or prevalent than is the reality. I’m not all that sure the whole world knows who Harry Redknapp is, but to me he is a God. Anyway… the phenomenon is real, it doesn’t apply to John Lennon as EVERYONE knows who he is, and it’s inappropriate to raise this issue in such a stick-in-the-eye way in a thread where people want to show him some reverence.
You the man Johnny Lennon. Wherever you are, enjoy! ![]()
Not to detract from John but who was the greatest beatle? We know it wasnt Ringo.
Was it sir Paul or George ?
Yeah my favorite beatles tune I’d have to say. I had this exact 45 single when I was a kid and played it a bit ![]()
70th year since the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, making/requiring the USofA to get involved in WW2? There is something for your minds.
[You’re late, Ritchie.]
Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup.
They slither wildly as they slip away across the universe.
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy, all drifting through my opened mind,
Possessing and caressing me.

There are places I’ll remember
All my life, though some have changed,
Some forever, not for better.
Some have gone, and some remain.
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall.
Some are dead and some are living.
In my life I’ve loved them all.
My four favorite Lennon tunes:
HAPPINESS IS A WARM GUN
A DAY IN THE LIFE
WORKING CLASS HERO
