Deep Tissue Massage (or sports massage)

I’ve crawled through the search function in this site, but haven’t really turned up anything of value.

I’m looking for a place where I could get a good deep tissue massage or sports massage. I’m trying to break up some possible fibrosis or scar tissue that has built up around one of hte tendons in my calves and is starting to make yoga class very annoying. I’ve been doing electrical stimulation and self-massage in order to help break up the residual scarring, but I need outside help as well.

If you know any Chinese medicine places that would be good at treating this sort of thing, I’m also open to any of those as well. Does anybody know where I could get something like this?

Please Help!!!

EDIT: forgot to mention that I live in Taipei city

Thanks very much
– Shaun

I went to a massage place by my house last night after work. I’ve been having this pain in the right side of my neck since Monday. I think it was caused by doing 25m sprints in the pool last Sunday. You know how a muscle pain spreads and after a while a somewhat large area is in pain? That’s exactly what happened and I was in sorry shape by the end of the workday yesterday.

The lady that worked on my neck and back started off nice by using her thumbs mostly (the kind of massage I like). But that quickly changed to elbow grinding into the neck and back. I thought for sure it would make everything worse, but by this morning, the pain is about 80% gone and improving.

So while I always frowned on elbow grinding type of massages, it does seem to work when it comes to injury type of muscle pains.

I went for a swim during lunch today. I don’t think I could have gone if I didn’t get that very painful massage.
