Hello,
I have a friend that is a sales representative for a musical instrument company here in Taiwan. I am sorry, but I don’t know the name. I would be happy to forward your contact information to her if you pm me.
I know that they make instruments to order for some very large and well known companies. I am sure if my friend can’t help you, she will know who can. She is very successful.

Cheers,

Mrbenson

There are the famous saxophone factories in Houli. Should be easy to find with google. Quite a few people in Taiwan make all sorts of Xiao, Dizi, Chiba (Shakuhachi), I know a guy in Chiayi that makes those. And there is an old guy in Lugang who still makes Nanguan Pipa and probably Nanguan Erxian.

What is the background of your question?
thansk for the reply’s and PM’s!

The background of my question is that I am trying to get a job position as a manufacturer of musical instruments. I’m not sure if I should say “manufacturer” here… “I am interested to create an instrument from scratch with my bare hands” so I am thinking about a position related in doing this. I got some good links and sites from some people already, but I hope to see more to see what is out there in Taiwan!

By the way, is instrumental musics popular in Taiwan? After I was searching on my own, I couldn’t find too much information so I wanted to ask. :astonished:
Where are you from? Are you Taiwanese? If not, you’ll find it VERY difficult indeed to get work in that field in a Taiwanese factory. To begin with, you’ll need to prove that you have at least two years experience in that field.
I know that most of the saxophone companies have a foreign design/QC consultant on their staff, but those guys are specialists with years of experience usually.
