Demographics of Americans in Taiwan?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for statistics on how many Americans are in Taiwan, and even better would be a more detailed breakdown of the primary reason they’re here: small or large business, teaching, studying, married here, missionary work, how long they’ve been here. AIT doesn’t seem to have any info on this.

Similar statistics on other countries would be of tangential interest, but I’m mainly interested in Americans.

Already did, and already did. That’s what I meant by “AIT doesn’t seem to have any info on this.” Problem is, Americans are not required to register with them, and according to my admittedly unscientific poll of my friends, less than 1 in 10 registered.
