I am talking now with the ccp. The preparations being laid out are certainly obvious. Not just india and taiwan but south china sea, island building and military bases being formed, debt traps turned military use seizures etc.
Seein this worlwide, literally, belt and road etc seems extremely dangerous to ignore it.
Much like climate change, it would be wonderful to be wrong, but likely we arent. the consequences of not preparing are probably going to be devastating.
I read somewhere theres budget allocated to replace those seats with the more advanced zero-zero-capable ones that are on the more recent aircraft.

Yeah I agree, but because of ever increasing life spans that will eventually be non sustainable; I guess. Unless we can invent things like perpetual motion machines , creating matter from non.matter etc. Resources are finite , space on this planet is finite too. I would agree in the short term that we need more young people , but what of the long term ?
More Capitalism. I’m reading a new book and the guy says that because of the big C, Capitalism, people have lived long enough to get heart disease, then we worked that out, and now they’re living long enough to get dementia and Alzheimer’s. So what kind of nasty things happen after 100?
Yes, it will be analogous to keeping an old car going by constant replacement of parts. Eventually you just have to scrap that car and get a new one. I guess maybe we can clone ourselves and figure out a way to.download our memories into our cloned body.

Don’t forget cancer. Almost everyone is gonna get cancer eventually unless we find a cure.
Long term the problem takes care of itself. The more prosperous and empowered people become, the fewer kids they have, generally. In other words, kids move from assets to liabilities.
Nations also become cleaner at the same time. So basically bringing everyone up to western economic standards is in the interest of every human and the planet.
I also don’t believe resource problems can’t be overcome with new technologies

Yeah, and I do not see in a nuclear war happening in Africa. Indian, China and Pakistan maybe. Famine however could affect Africa. Things like Mosquitos still take quite a toll. They seem to have a constant stream of small wars though. The future does not look bright for animals like the mountain gorillas though.

Yeah Israelis are built different. both men and women. everyone serves. everyone knows how to shoot or hack. The way they take self defence of their territory should be a model worldwide.

Built different? If that mattered then west Africans would ruleThey have superior weaponry to their Arab and Persian enemies too. Especially their airforce although their tanks did not do particularly well in their last conflict against Hezbollah. Taiwan is in a much better position to protect itself being a mountainous island but is facing a huge hi tech army not poorly equipped outdated Iranian and Syrian forces.Just knowing how to shoot automatic rifles is not going to make a huge difference. It is not exactly like flying an Apache.
mentality wise. they’re not afraid to die. and that counts a lot in an armed conflict. and as an afrikan I can tell you christianity did a number on us. folks are afraid to die because some foreign religion told them you die you go to hell or heaven. whereas with judaism that concept is close to non-existent.
I tend to agree. I’ve often thought Taiwan should follow the Israeli model of self defense: just be aggressive. But that’s not likely to happen. Because it’s not a short term tactic, instead it requires building up the military and changing the mindset of the population.
That is nonsense. There are many many secular jews in Israel. Being afraid to die is not a bad thing in combat it stops you from doing dumb things. Kill and not be killed is the idea. Many Taliban and Isis were not scared of death, Apache helicopters accomadated their desire for it.
One reason that Israel isn’t a useful comparison is that Israelis do not have the option to stay and assimilate. They can leave Israel (which hasn’t worked out well historically), or they can fight to the death.
