I agree. This can’t possibly be true. Even every small town in Thailand has cat houses that cater to the locals. Just look for the “restaurant/pub” with Christmas tree lights. Very common.

Well the government classifies half a million people as working in the special entertainment industry. Not all of those are sex workers of course. However there are also thousands of girls working freelance via cell phone apps and the like. The government has no tabs on these.

Thing about Thailand is it’s very obvious. See a building with a big number on it, it’s a brothel. See a street of massage parlors, they’re all providing sexual services. In Taiwan “content delivery” is via so many different channels you often don’t realize what you’re looking at.

  • regular professionals;
  • senior professionals; and
  • special professionals

The obvious stuff is obvious, there is also all the same not obvious stuff as in Taiwan. There is also a lot more poverty in Thailand. There are also poor neighbors with land borders. Lots of girls to fill these places

You might not know where these places are if you don’t have the right group of local friends, same as here, but the locals in Thailand definitely use discrete options

They also aren’t interested in the dark skinned girls that crazy foreigners over pay for in places like Pattaya, or the lady boys of Nana. I recently shared a link somewhere to the Posieden bathhouse, one of many huge bathhouses that cater to the locals

If the intent is to destigmatize people in that industry then it sounds good to me.

Discussions of this ilk are usually skewed because people tend to ignore the reality that the worker is providing something for which there is a demand. If there was no demand for pornography, lap dancing, exchanging money for sexual activity, there would be no supply.

Taipei area

Women for men:

  • Lately 8 to $12,000 or more now for one date. Not including you know discounts and things having multiple dates. ~$2000 if age isn’t important or if you’re an old man in a wheelchair Wanhua maybe $800.
  • ~ $3-4000 still a bit of the norm

Men for women:

  • If a girl wants a man that’s still up in the four to six to $8,000 range and they want gifts.
