Do I get paid vacation days at end of one year contract?

Soon I will be finishing a one year contract at a cram school in which I was a full time instructor.

They did not give me any paid vacation.

Are they required by law to pay me for the days I did not take at the end of my contract?

Please let me know if yes and for how many days.

Would check your contract, and the Labor Standards Act (e.g., Article 38).

You generally don’t get annual leave in your first year.but as soon as you hit one year you get seven days which you can take right away.

Is that standard? I thought it was 3 days after 6 months based on what I’d heard from other people and what it says in the LSA (but then I’ve never worked for a regular employer in Taiwan).

Yeah that may be the new rule.

The amendment was in 2016 or so.

I’m not sure what you’re asking here. If you don’t have any vacation days, how can they pay you for the ones you didn’t take?

If they don’t grant the vacation days (with pay) for whatever reason, they need to do a cash-out, iirc.

You can inquire at your local labor department.
