I’m planning to start MTC on June 5th Im planning to set send my passport application tomorrow (I think its like 2-3 weeks for it to come?) Than I have to send the passport to match to get admission and apply for visa. Would I be able to to get everything accepted on time?

Maybe rephrase the thread title and the question. I doubt many of us here know about how long it takes to get a passport in other countries (never mind when you initially don’t even tell us which country). Who do you have to send the passport to? Who does it have to match with? Have you already applied and been accepted to MTC, but just need to send them your paperwork, or have you never talked to MTC at all? How long are you going to be here? What kind of visa do you need?
Good luck, but these questions are probably much better addressed to your local passport office and to MTC anyway.

I’m from Florida US, I’m not sure where my passport is going all I know it takes around 2-3 weeks. Have not been apply to apply at mtc yet need photo copy of pass in order to apply at mtc (I think?) Planning to stay 6 months I guess a vistor visa then extend it while I’m there.
You can pay for expedited service for your passport at the post office. I don’t know how long it takes but when I did my passport in 2007 last time it took about a month without expedited service.
Apply now for MTC, you get in automatically, just do it soon so you can get the paperwork for your visa. You are from FL (don’t know where), so your TECO office is in Miami. If you live in the North, maybe Atlanta would be a better choice for you. You can get a visa at any one of the offices (a lot of us end up in HK doing visas). If you are really really nice to the bitch behind the counter she can do it for you right then and there. I don’t think you have a time crunch problem as far as passport and visa are concerned. Just get your stuff to Shi-Da ASAP because that’s where the hold up is. STAMP STAMP STAMP Welcome to Chinese bureaucracy.
No, I think he’ll have to go to the one in Miami. Consulates in the US are funny that way: you can only go to the one that is designated for the region you live in.
Best option is to actually go to the Miami TECO in person. Much quicker.

Call their office right now while they’re open and ask for Jenny (…if she still works there, been a few years since I’ve been anywhere near that place). She’s American. Just tell her your whole situation.

Taiwan (Republic of China) has limited diplomatic recognition worldwide because of their political relationship with Mainland China (People’s Republic of China). That office helps you with issuing visas, authenticating paperwork, and services for people holding ROC passports living abroad. I recommend you learn a little about Taiwan and Mainland China’s unique relationship yourself before coming here and being brainwashed to either side of the debate. It’s quite interesting to learn about.

buy a sim card but you can’t because you aren’t legal.
open a bank account.
take a flight somewhere but they insist on seeing the credit card that you purchased the ticket on under your name.
going clubbing (they check IDs here everywhere).
etc.
I think you should check out your options in Mainland China before committing to TW.

My husband buy my airline ticked on his crdit card I never need to show the credit card to fly. It’s not a requirement for me to show his credit card.
