I consider it as politeness. I won’t begin to pretend I understand it, but in the written form non-standard pronouns are easy to get right. When speaking it’s virtually impossible.
This left right thing is also highly overdone. .
For instance : myself.
I would probably be classed a socialist here even though I am very much right of center for my home country. Probably in the last tenth percentile to the right. I think my fellow citizens pay way too much tax and are easily led.
I’m also not a fan of religion especially Islam.
I also think arming all citizens for self protection is counterproductive . That’s just an arms race in your neighbourhood and makes people afraid to say boo to each other. It’s not because I would want take away your ‘rights’ it’s because I’m from a society that doesn’t have guns everywhere and we don’t have many school shootings etc. Seems to work.
But I hate weasly pussies hiding on the internet taking cheap shots at people less well off than them or at some ethnic groups. That stuff is a slippery slope.
Sometimes it’s people that aren’t very well off to begin with and feel jealous of these other ethnic groups. For varying reasons. They can’t have a better life so why should someone else. (in their view)
That’s another topic, but I haven’t seen a single proper use of acronyms or abbreviations here on this forum.
Hardly ever someone introduces the acronym he/she uses in a proper way, like:
The World Trade Organisation (WTO) blablabla…
Very often, I need to ask google and half of the time there won’t be an answer on the first try, sometimes never.
It’s a teachers’ forum, I guess.
