Do you carry a wallet or something else?

I gave up carrying a wallet after moving to Taiwan and finding it tiring to always have an overloaded pocket full of coins.

Went to a small leather pouch that is flexible enough to carry in front pocket with a spot for coins and still carry cards as needed. It’s small but big enough for wad of folding bills and cards. Works great. Except with pants with shallow pockets.

I’m thinking to go back to regular wallet.

Seems always still need another bag for daytripping.

i use a kangaroo scrotum coin pouch. which i tuck into my bra, and my cards live in the back of my phone.

I switched to a travel wallet years ago when I went mostly cashless, but I find it working fine here for the most part. Bit of a tight fit to put some cash in but I love having such a slim wallet. It’s kinda like this but with a see-through for an ID:

Obviously good storage location but I’m sure I’m not ready to wear a bra.

for several years i used a phone case wallet, kept my phone and cards and cash all together. but it was limited in card carry and i didn’t like keeping all my eggs in one basket, so now i have a card wallet with space for folded bills (similar to @kurupted, but leather, slots for 6 cards, and a no zipper on the middle pouch that holds 10-15 bills comfortably). it fits nicely flat in the front pocket (big wallets in back pockets are asking to be stolen, and not good for your back when sat on), i don’t miss keeping a big oversized wallet.

for coins, i don’t usually leave the house with any and they build up in my pockets over the day. at the end of the day i transition them to a leather coin purse that i take out when it starts getting full and just buy things with coins that day. 1NT coins that build up eventually get transferred to another container and i dump them into a vending machine in my building from time to time. when that container gets full i’ll probably roll them. being able to roll things between your fingers with paper is surprisingly a transferable skill!

the wallet was about $10 CAD on amazon

Bill clip, card holder, loose change in pocket to clear away slow pedestrians.

My wife has that exact thing…so weurd, is it a taiwanese thing to buy? She keeps her stamp in it.

it’s definitely a tourist thing to buy in Australia.

plus, who doesn’t like to let their wife cary their ballsac around?

TBH, they are mostly a tourist gimmick and not many Aussie males I know would like to profess a love of scrotums. If i want to know what a scrotum feels like, i can just rub my elbow skin.

Your scrotum is that dry?

I keep my elbows well moisturised. you never know when they might get inspected.

you mean, this is an actual kangaroo scrotum?

We got a punter!

The only meaning I know is a kicker in American football, perhaps you meant a different meaning?

Makes sense. Like the cane toad change purses.

a mark at a show!

yes, they are real kangaroo scrotums. not a trick. you should also know that a kangaroo’s scrotum is carried above rather than below the penis. stops the balls banging on the ground when they hop.

Don’t believe me?

I got a thing to hang from my belt on my hip. Sitting on a wallet really screwed up my ass. Never again

I use Google Pay on my phone for most things, and have some money and and a credit card with EasyCard between my phone and case if I need them.

I take a man purse when I shop in traditional markets.

Old fashioned money clip?
Where can I get one of those?
I’m starting phone case wallet now.
With this heat or constant rain, my bills and receipts turn into floppy balls in my pocket. Need a better way.

Mine was a gift…bought at one of the big department stores.

This can really do a number on you! 35 years ago I took a road trip, driving my car with a big wallet in my back pocket. It really started to hurt my hips. So I started carrying my wallet or money in the front pocket.

Still to this day, if I sit on anything in my back pocket, I can feel the same pain return. It’s never gone away! Perfectly healthy otherwise, but sitting on a wallet changed my body.
