Do you think Taiwan has more luxury cars than other places?

In terms of ‘saving money’ it doesn’t make sense to buy imported luxury cars with exorbitant tax whacked on, so it’s a good guess that they either have a lot of extra cash to play with and enjoy the face associated with expensive cars or else overstretch themselves to buy one, one of the other. The tax man loves it because while they may escape paying tax on their income they can’t escape paying on the luxury goods :sunglasses:.

Employees with car allowances and businesses that lease cars on behalf of employees will view the economics differently.

Nice car, surprised the job pays enough to buy that car

They just get out a loan for a few years.

How’s your Focus? We need a car and one of the few without a 3 month wait is the Ford Focus ST Line Lommel X. The salesman was like “we can get you one tomorrow”.

Are those things manufactured locally?

Never seen so many Merc G-wagons all AMG, McLaren’s, Bentley, Aston Martin and new Landrover Defender. More of those in Taipei than London I reckon.

But this is best I’ve seen recently, Toyota Landcruiser 70 year celebration model.

Far superior to Any Land Rover.

Yes, the Focus is made in Taiwan. Toyota said the same about the Corolla Cross, made in Taiwan and they can get it quickly.

Both seemed a lot cheaper than similar imported cars too.

Could be selling the marijuana to students in the dorm, someone told me the prices here are -erm- high. Hence 3 bags instead of 1

It is awfully naive to think that nobody at an entire university is doing any drugs, and someone has to sell them

Damn car porn right there, fave vehicle I ever drove .

Parents buy it for them, no need for any drug selling, just own some properties.

If someone who normally shouldn’t make much suddenly drives a luxury car that would definitely get law enforcement to look into it. Unless they’re real good at money laundering.

. . . that signals for me, in Taiwan, possible intra-family transfer of wealth, or some intra-family horse trading (selling or handing off stuff to one another).

Tried really hard to get my Toyota dealer to get one over here, but it was impossible. I got one of the first Prado’s offered and quickly grabbed a second one before they caught on. Now the waiting list is really long for any future imports.

But back to the investment aspect, my first Prado is almost two years old. At least once a month someone hits me up wanting to buy it off me. I’ve been offered nearly double the price I paid even though it’s almost two years old. In my opinion a sound investment unless China starts lobbing middles over here.

And besides the investment part, the roads are the most dangerous part of living here and with the Prado I have very little worries about my families safety. Well worth the money spent.

This is so true, for the little prince (boys seem like it)

How do they hold up to the old ones? even old, they are worth good money! for good reason. I always worry the new anniversary type things computerize themselves into meaningless.

He has gone mad and added whole range of spots on the front, bumper and roof, I can’t see back or side I’ll get a photo when I can.

His other car is a G Wagon, Range Rover and his wife or PA has VW V6 Golf break! With Steel rims!

This Rimac Nevera is available 2023 how soon before we see one in Taipei?
