Would it be possible to enter Taiwan if you have less than 6 months remaining on your passport but hold an ARC or APRC?
Shouldn’t be an issue, but I’d get that replaced ASAP. They might lecture you.
I recently entered with an ARC and a passport about to expire in 5 months 2 weeks (both at the same time), and the customs officer just pointed it out to me that I need to renovate my passport soon, but let me through without problem.
You’ll be fine. The six-month rule usually only applies if you’re entering a country as a tourist. They won’t stop you from returning to your home in Taiwan, or you’d have nowhere to go.
I’ve done it before. When I tried to check in at Heathrow a Germanic sounding lady refused to allow me to board. Luckily, a nice Taiwanese chap overheard my whining and asked to see my JFRV. He then confirmed that I was good to go. She wasn’t happy about this calling it highly irregular.
I had no trouble at all at Taoyuan International.
Well the rule only applies to visa exempted entry. Ask her if it was irregular for returning residents to be allowed to return to the UK with 5 months in their passport
