Does anyone have a paypal account linked to E.Sun bank?

I have a paypal account. I need it because I sell some products online. My paypal account is linked to a bank in USA. So, all the money go there. I was thinking to withdraw the money in Taiwan. There is only one bank that works with Paypal. It is E.Sun bank. Does anyone have the paypal account linked to this bank? Is it worth and convenient? Do they charge a lot of fees?

No they do not charge a fee to withdraw to your E Sun account but it takes about 3 business days for the money to show up. Paypal however does charge fees for incoming payment.

I am asked if I want to open a “Digital Account” or a “General Banking Account”. I only need it for Taiwanese PayPal → E.SUN from where I can withdraw it at ATMs.

Couldn’t find any information about Digital and General Banking Account differences but the latter requires you to come in person and answer tons of questions like company ID no. or company phone, which I can’t offer as a self-employed person below 30k/month income through their bank account in the future.

Do you know if a Digital Account (which seems not to require all this) works with PayPal or do I need this “General Banking Account”?

Oh, and does anyone know if I have to use my Chinese name from ARC in a Taiwanese PayPal account as well as E.SUN?
I read if the names don’t match, there will be problems connecting them and I assume that E.SUN does require my Chinese name as written on my ARC?

Here is Paypal’s current info on withdrawing to a bank account in Taiwan (as of October 2025). The page should open in English.

You will need to add your English name to your E.Sun account - and it must be exactly the same as the name of your Paypal account!
See the info from Paypal :
"To make a successful withdrawal, the name on your PayPal account should match the name on your bank account. Please make sure that the both names are written in the same language using the exact same characters. For example, if your PayPal account name is “Wang XiaoMing,” but you use your Chinese name “王小明” to open an E.SUN bank account, you won’t be able to link the 2 accounts.

In this case, you can request E.SUN Bank to add your English spelling name as the secondary account holder name. You’ll need to provide a valid ID proof, such as your passport, which displays your official English spelling name."

If I’m not wrong I opened a general bank account, and they added a digital bank account for the USD. The process is not too bad, if I remember it was mostly online. The name has to match though, if not you will not be able to transfer your money.

Also also, the transfer can take up to 5 working days, it was never 3 working days for me :smiling_face_with_tear: always 5…

For the percentage that they take, I think Paypal will automatically cut the wire transfer percentage, E.Sun doesn’t.

Correct me if I’m wrong. I think someone should only need a E.Sun digital bank account to connect to Paypal.
Anyway I’m going to open a digital account with E.Sun next week to transfer in my Paypal balance.

Hmmmm… I think you’re right, maybe the digital account is for Paypal but you can wire the money to NTD also… which will give us option on wiring in as USD or NTD

Anyways, the clerk helped me with everything. The process is very easy

Foreigners cannot directly appy electronic account

Okay, then I guess both of them was not digital. But I do have two account, one is for NTD one is for USD. Whichever is which, just make a reservation, and let the clerk do their work. Didn’t even took long.
