don’t replace it with an ASUS!
Oh I absolutely will. While I’m upset with a few things, it’s still got the best features for me.
It’s the least of all evils unfortunately.
Really? I’m thinking samsung to replace my asus
Yeah. I’m serious. I’m upset at a few things, but there isn’t anything else that sticks out to me.
Sorry @van, had to split it off to a new topic.
apologies for the derail. I got to stop doing that. Learning that it’s bad.
Anyways, my asus phone is buggy. often have to restart it multiple times after the battery drains.
No worries. That’s why I brought it here. Gives us an avenue to talk about it.

I have two, one I got for free.
Zenfone 5z and ROG Phone.
The ROG Phone has been relatively buggy, but it has certainly lasted the last six years. Same with the Zenfone. The Zenfone got more updates which upsets me because the ROG Phone was more expensive, but hey, it was a 1.0 device.
Both devices have lasted the longest time for a smartphone for me ever. The Zenfone did not have the AWS band for travelling to North America which kinda sucked.
I’m willing to give the ROG 9 a shot when money comes my way.
Samsung has been doing everything Apple does wrong.
Apple stands against everything I stand for.
I don’t trust communists so I won’t buy Huawei, Oppo, Oneplus, ZTE, etc…
HTC is crouched in the corner foaming at the mouth. I am surprised they released a new flagship phone recently, but it doesn’t have the network compatibility I crave.
Sharp doesn’t even publish their network compatibility.
Nokia lives in the past.
Sony has relatively poor network compatibility.
LG hasn’t released a phone in years
Nothing phone specs are terrible.
ASUS, I get good specs in the areas I consider important and they have the best frequency compatibility even though I still grumble at the regional differences. I’m sure their experience in phone making has led to a better OS experience lately, their lower end phones were garbage for sure.

Do you have any views on Google Pixel phones?
Guy
Acutally I was considering the Zenfone 9 or 10 before. Some reviews about it were good. And it has a headphone jack. So it can be buggy sometimes?
I always get ASUS Phones, I guess trying to support Taiwan? I couldn’t give a shit what a phone does passed using Line and watching Youtube so specs are not important. I’ve bought 2nd hand ASUS phones for the last 6 years and never had problems. Currently using a Zenphone 8 and it’s completely fine despite what the internet warned me, I take those reviews with a grain of salt because I assume they are reviewed based on the ability to play mobile games.

despite what the internet warned me
For example? Just curious what that might be
I gave up on Asus when they became anti-consumer.

Battery and heating issues iirc. Battery lasts a long time for me and despite running my phone’s hotspot 24/7 I haven’t had any heating issues. Gets a little warm, but nothing unusual.
Sometimes made by communist companies.
My ROG Phone has a memory leak issue that will eventually make the phone unusable when almost any app is running and must be restarted. The Zenfone, using the same hardware does not have this issue as it was updated to Android 10.

memory leak issue
Needed to google that, sounds familiar with previous phones I used. It sounds like the Zenfone series offers good value for money. I don’t need much more than that.
Some heating sounds also pretty common with lots of phones.
I’ve also had the Zenphone 8 flip for two years and it works perfectly. No stupid bloatware (I always had Samsung phones before and one Iphone), connects right away to BLE and normal Bluetooth. I’ve had about 2 bugs in all this time, and they vanished upon restarting the phone.

This is another huge issue.
To be honest, I hate smartphones.
Always a constant compromise on SOMETHING.
