Hi Ive checked out numerous tobacco stores around the Taipei area. Mostly what Ive seen is pipe tobacco or cigars. There is one common brand of flavored tobacco (cherry, vanilla, mango, eww etc) that seems kind of an occasional kick for the locals, but I cant seem to find standard, good quality rolling tobacco like Drum, Golden Virginia, American Spirit (from the US)… By the way, on several occasions the laoban swore that rolling pipe tobbacco was an acceptable alternative way of smoking… unlike those western traditionalists who use pipes to smoke pipe tobacco. Any ideas in Taipei or is anyone returning from a vacation in Thailand willing to pick me up a few boxes of it on their way back? I’ll add few extra baht for your trouble!

I’m looking for some decent cigarette tobacco. I’ve bought some “Red Bull” brand halfzware shag. It’s really dry and is poorly cut though. I was smoking “Bali Shag” in the US but no stores can ship them abroad apparently.
Anyone know where I might be able to get some nice tobacco? A phone number would be helpful too as I live in the south.

The Guy Stuff shop on Tung Hua St., just south of where the night market crosses, has, or used to have, several types of ciggie tobacco as well as skins and Zippos etc.
I don’t know shit about brands outside Drum and Bison, but they seemed to have some pretty exotic ones.
do any of these places have dip/chewing tobacco? or does anyone know of a place that does?
Came across a place today at 193 Huayin Street behind Taipei Train Station, near Taiyuan Rd. Full sized store with all kinds of tobacco implements, including a bunch of kinds of cigarette tobacco and the largest selection of rolling papers I ever saw here.

been here for a while… i’ve had a serious craving for some dip for a while now. i’m a regular smoker but about once a year i like to switch to dip for a while to give my lungs a break. instead of doing that i should just quit smoking, i know, but damnit i love a smoke.

Does anyone know where I can buy English of American hand rolling tobacco? American Spirit, Golden Virginia, Cutters Choice,Amber Leaf etc. I have found German, Belgian and other European tobaccos but no English or American brands. Yes I know its bad for me

Hey been looking for Ages in Taichung,apparently you can get in Taipei but regulary sells out fast,im not too sure of the shop-was told its like Jasons market but a non chain version,if you find some let me know!

That one I posted behind Taipei Station has a lot of stuff, they don’t show tobacco on their site but I’m pretty sure they have a lot in their shop. A lot of it is behind frosted glass and must be grey market or something. Next time I’m over there I’ll take a look.
I hopefully have some time this weekend and I will check out the shop behind the main station and Tung Hua St, and report my findings

there is a place near the AnHe/Xinyi intersection in Taipei called ‘The Smoker’s Inn’ (or something to that effect).
it is on a lane West of Anhe (running parallel to Anhe) between XinYi and Ren’ai. It is around the corner from the old CLI chinese language school. Turn at the 7-Eleven on Anhe and you should find it. The lane it is on is quite large.
Im going back to London for xmas so im going to stock up and fill my wife’s suitcase-i will be more than happy to part with some when im back,but if anyones finds any please share!
