Economy Grows 8% in Q1 (Yes, you heard that right)

The effects had kicked off that quickly? My memory betrays me again.

It doesn’t matter. Taiwan’s economy didn’t contract Q1 2020.

Economy only grows for the ultra rich anyways.

Can I sing you a song to cheer you up?

The economists were projecting 5 percent annual growth but only 5.5 in the first quarter. This beat their predictions by a mile, that’s the economy outperforming expectations which is always a good thing.

China’s economic recovery quickened sharply in the first quarter to record growth of 18.3% from last year’s deep coronavirus slump, propelled by stronger demand at home and abroad and continued government support for smaller firms.- Reuters

Yea, we’ll see for the whole year.
Prediction
Taiwan: 6-8%
US: 5-6%
China 9-12%

China’s numbers are fake.

The fact is, Taiwan has gotten lucky by just about every thing.

US China trade war: Taiwan wins

Japan-Korea trade war: Taiwan wins

Pandemic, people work from home and need more electronics: Taiwan wins

Play this on a repeating loop.

You forgot one. China gives world disease, world helps cover it up and is slow/unwilling to react. China is now ultra confident they own the planet and start expanding.

Taiwan, wins?

World was very slow on the Uyghur thing too.

You have a point.

But yeah, US and Taiwan are closer than ever.

European parliamentarians to start visiting. Taiwan wins.
