Eggroll/Wonton wrappers

I know this seems like a crazy question in an Asian country, but I have looked around in the standard grocery stores and have not been able to find eggroll or wonton wrappers. Am I looking in the wrong places? :ponder:
Please help.

You can get them in the market. “hun dun pi”

Cool, I’ll check this weekend. Thanks.

I’m trying to find the same thing (wonton / dumpling wrappers). Standard stores I’ve checked don’t sell them and it’s hard for me to go to the traditional markets in the morning. Does RT Mart or Carrefour sell them? Any stores around Tienmu, Taipei Main station, Taipei City hall or Shilin night market sell them?

Shidong market in Tienmu is open into the afternoon. I’m sure you could there.

Thanks for the tip. The taipei government web site lists the hours as 0600 to 1900 closed on Monday. Not exactly convenient(then again, what in Taiwan is convenient) but it’s doable on the weekends.

Does anyone know where I can buy eggroll wrappers ? Thank you

Chinese deep fried egg roll wrappers? Should be able to get them at a local shop that makes fresh noodles and wonton wrappers. This would involve exploring the neighborhood surrounding your local morning markets. Where are you? Wei chuan corporation also makes frozen eggroll wrappers (Google images) but I haven’t looked for them in the supermarkets.

Where exactly are you located?

People buy fresh wrappers at their local noodlemaker shop. Fortunately, the local markets and the nearby shops are open every weekend morning. I saw Weichuan brand frozen egg roll wrappers on Google images, but have not looked for them in supermarkets. Also, those little deep fried eggrolls that you get at Cantonese dim sum are not something that Taiwanese will ordinarily prepare at home. If you look in the freezer sections of supermarkets, you will see frozen wontons, dumplings, scallion pancakes, and an astoundingly large selection of chicken nuggets, but I don’t recall ever seeing frozen egg rolls or wrappers. On the street you will see the odd street stand selling Taiwan variations of deep fried eggrolls.
