Um, Zhongshan North Road Section 7 is NOT right in the heart of Taipei City. In fact, you couldn’t get much farther from the “heart” and still be in city limits.

But hey, if the food is good, I’m sure people will make the trip! Best of luck in this endeavour! :bravo:

That link didn’t work for me.

EDIT: works fine at my other office. Never mind. But I’d like to see more info about the menu and prices.

Works fine for me.

Me too.

Hi Maoman, you are right, I meant to say the heart of Tian Mu, not Taipei. Thanks for clarifying it. Soon, I will publish a poster with accurate details and a map. Welcome to try us!

It beats going all the way to Dansui.

Stop teasing us. When exactly can we get our hands on the food?!

Hi!

We will start up on Monday September 15th at 12:00 noon.

Here is a little introduction of our restaurant:

Cheers!

El Gallo

So what’s on the menu? Can you give us an idea of the range? Is it the typical antojitos (tacos, burritos etc.) or is it a broader sampling of Mexican cuisine?

Hi!

These are some of the dishes we will have:

Tampiquena, a combination platter of grilled feef, enchiladas and home made beans.

Red Mole ( Ancient mexican recipe using chocolate souce)

Aztec Soup

Red and Green Enchiladas

Tamales

Empanadas

Pork Carnitas

Ceviche ( Sea Food Cocktail)

Real Mexico City Tacos with soft, corn tortillas

Home made corn tortillas

Home made salsas from little spicy to fire spicy

Guacamole

Pico de Gallo

Mexican beer and of course Great Margaritas and other tequila cocktails…

We will publish our full menu here later. Also you can check our facebook profile with this name: Gallo Chef

Sounds nice! Are those sweet tamales?

Glad to see you found a source for masa – I don’t think anyone else is doing homemade corn tortillas in town at the moment. I tried it but mine just fall apart,.

We will have both, sweet and regular tamales con rajas, mole or salsa verde de pollo or pork or beef.

Yes, we have real “masa” and imported all ingredients and tools, we want to bring the real experience of Mexico^^

El Gallo

Excellente! I’m looking forward to trying it!

some info on the owners/chefs pls. is this “authentic” in that people from Mexico are responsible for the food. tks, no info on website about this.

In the first post, the OP said “made daily by Mexican Chefs”.

An unnecessary spam thread and unnecessary hype.

Simply a new branch of an existing restaurant: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=66971&start=30

Since when is Chungli in Tianmu? Your opinion has been noted and if there wasn’t a glitch preventing me from modding, your post would now be in temp.
FYI. This is a restaurant forum. People with restaurants are ENCOURAGED to post here. People with restaurants in more than one location are ENCOURAGED to post here. It is not considered to be spam.

But Mexico Sabroso is in Zhongli, and has a different name. Furthermore, announcing the opening of new bars and restaurants here is a good thing, as it brings them to our attention and allows us to compare notes on them, and give feedback to the owners as well.

Good Mexican food is very scarce in Taiwan, and I for one welcome the information, and look forward to trying it.
