There is an elementary school next to me that my kids do NOT attend. They attend a Waldorf school that doesn’t offer sports. I’ve heard that kids can still enroll in sports clubs at elementary schools they do not attend. I should probably just go ask the school, but I’m lazy and thought I’d first ask this group to see if anyone has experience with this.
Are they registered at a public elementary school? Most experimental schools are not actually registered as schools with the MOE (they’re “non-educational experimental organizations” or something) and the students at those schools end up being registered as “homeschool” students with the nearest elementary school. That means they go to the local elementary school for health checks and can also register to play sports and join clubs there. I imagine it’s quite awkward to do so unless it’s a huge school, since a smaller school would lead to a lot of “who are you?” but your kids probably have their student 悠遊卡 for that school anyway?
