Hard to tell what’s going on there, but it sounds to me as if her “brand” has simply played out, and she’s decided to quit with her winnings before things turn to crap. Can’t say I blame her. At 62, why not just retire and take life easy?

I don’t watch her much as I don’t find her particularly funny. That said, I have watched clips from a gameshow she hosts (hosted?) where iirc 3 non-celeb females were asked trivia questions by DeG. If they got the answer wrong the floor beneath them seemed to drop away and the guests along with it. DeG seemed to find that great fun.
I’ve also seem some practical jokes she played on guests on her talk show (?), and I thought at the time, “is this woman a sadist?” The butt of all the pranks I saw was a female, never male (although I don’t know if that’s a hard and fast rule). I remember a couple times her reaction was kinda cringey.
Anyway, I am not a fan but I would also not be surprised to learn that she is quite cruel irl.

Yeah, seen that show, too, where if you get wrong answer, you get dropped into some gooey stuff, or down a long chute. Seems copied from somewhere (Asia, perhaps). Yeah, after 1 episode, it kinda gets old.
