Hi Forumosa! We have created a free platform to learn Taiwanese Hokkien with an English interface, designed for learners with poor or zero recognition of Chinese characters.
Till now, it has been difficult to learn Taiwanese Hokkien without good Chinese reading skills, as almost all resources (such as iTaigi) are in Chinese, and designed for Taiwanese users.
studytaiwanese.com is our answer to this problem. The platform has the following features:

Both Tâi-lô and POJ romanizations (users can change to POJ on the ‘Settings’ page)

Flashcard system with difficulty rankings

Ability to mark words as favorites for future reference

A comment system for asking questions or reporting mistakes

Community word submissions

Installable as an app to Android & iPhone (see ‘Settings’ page for more info)
Currently we have over 100 words on the platform, and are adding new words every day. If you want to add your own words, you can do that too! Since our dictionary entries are community generated, please be patient and mindful that some words, especially those marked as “unreviewed” may be incorrect. If you find a word or pronunciation is incorrect, please leave a comment on that page’s discussion page and we will work to update the entry.
