English-speaking ear, nose and throat doctor in Taichung

I urgently need to see an ENT doctor, anyone know an english speaking doctor in Taichung?

many thanks.

I have read about a hospital in Da-li that has volunteer interpreters, Ren-Ai Hospital. I read that in the Compass. If you are near Tunghai, I have a friend in the Veteran’s Hospital who can help you out with communicating. Most doctors in Taiwan speak English (medical English, or the kind of broken English that you can get from lots of science books). Good luck.

Communicating with doctors isn’t usually a problem. But finding the right place in the hospital and registering could be slightly trickier. Ren’ai do have ads in the Compass magazine, and so they could be used to dealing with English speakers. Ren’ai is a big hospital right by the side of the main road that goes through Dali City (just south of Taichung City: follow Guoguang Rd out of town a few km).

Alternatively, going through Douglas’s friend at the Veteran’s Hospital could be a good idea.

Or if you’re near the China Medical University Hospital on Xueshi Rd, they’re generally OK about dealing with English speakers.
