Asking for a friend. He has tried to find lawyers on his own, but they don’t reply or just state “看不懂”. The Legal Aid Foundation was not helpful beyond a 30-minute consult. They say they cannot help him because his income is too high, which is not that that high actually.
I believe mediation is taking place, and there is a translator. His Mandarin is decent and his wife is fairly fluent… just not in terms of legalese.
There are also issues of custody as his wife wants to move back to her hometown. He’s facing a lot of pressure without any solid advice on how to stick up for himself.
