English-speaking vets in Taichung?

A few days ago a puppy moved into the lane. Unlike the cats of the past year who were all half dead by the time they wandered in, this puppy appears in tip-top shape. I would like him to stay that way, so I need to find an English-speaking vet somewhere in Taichung County.

Does anybody know of one?

I don’t know one, but if you need help, I would volunteer to go with you and help translating. Our vet is located in the street that leads to the DMV, very close to Zhonggang Road. Send me a pm with your number and we can arrange a time.

wow,DrZoid making a come back, that’s gotta be a special pup

Thanks for the offer. I’m going to see if I can recruit one or two of my junior high students to help, like I did when I needed new glasses. If that doesn’t work out, I’ll be in touch. I don’t plan on keeping him, I just want to make sure he gets vaccinated and neutered.

Who can resist puppy-dog eyes? Not me, that’s for sure. Making a comeback? Not likely. I simply posted a question for the puppy’s sake.

Hi there,
It’s very kind of you to help the animals in Taiwan.
There is a vet that we work with on ChungMay St., #276 Taichung City.
Dr. Huang speaks English and there is a vet assitant who is from America-Ian there.
This is the vet that our group work with.
If you need more info you may go on www.taichungpaws.org

I found one on in Tachia when I lived there. It was on the road near the movie theater as you go towards the train station.

I am working as a vet-tech at a place in Taichung and one of the vets does speak English pretty well. I’m there on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:30-2:00. They know their stuff and they do help with strays as Minou said. Just another option if you can’t find anything.

I know of one called Julia. She is at the Animal Hospital next to the petrol station on Wenshin and Taichungang. She is from NEw Zealand

This animal hospital: vet.com.tw/index.php
I know Dr. Jen and Dr. Hsu can speak good Eng and they both are very good vets.
I recommend you to go there, if you need any more help, you can email me: blue_sky23@kiss99.com

I have had some really bad experiences with National Veterinary Hospital, and so have others. They used to be the best, then they became big business. I don’t recommend them at all.

In my opinion, it depends on which Dr. you choose.
There are many doctors.
Dr. Jen and Dr. Hsu are very good.
I always saw many foreing families, too~

I would recommend Dr. Lin from Taichung city’s 米懷古動物醫院.
He has worked with many individual animal rescuers and animal right groups,
and charged a very reasonable price (at least to them).
He has an assistance who can speak English well,
but I don’t know about him though.

Do you mind elaborating on why you don’t recommend them (other than the fact that they’re a big business)? I note that you happen to be from Taichung Paws, so are you their competitor?
