Extended warranties on laptops

Hey guys,

I really want to buy a new Microsoft Surface laptop here in Taiwan but I am wondering where I can go to purchase one that offers a comprehensive warranty beyond the manufacturer warranty or just a one-year extension on that manufacturer warranty.

Is that just something I’m gonna have to live without here?

Most hardware nowadays is pretty resilient and most repairs cost less than an extended warranty. It’s generally considered not worth the purchase of the extended warranty. Risk of spontaneous catastrophic failure is fairly low if you take care of your devices.
