By FIA regulations, any race that completes less than 75% distance is awarded half points, which means five points for Button, not ten, and a half point for eighth place.
On an amusing note, part of why the race was called was the coming of night and lack of lighting. Before the race, Robert Kubica had said the low sun and twilight could be a problem, but it wasn’t for him.
His car died on the first lap with engine problems.
