I am looking for some information. About two years ago I did something really stupid I used a photoshop fake degree to work here it worked for one year then government asked me to get it stamped and I couldn’t I ended up leaving back home. I since then have finished my degree and I would like to come back. I am wondering if anyone would have any information on this, what will happen if I try to come back and apply for work permit. My degree is from a different school then the fake one. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Also I know I have done something wrong already and regret it and have paid the price , Im not looking for any bad comments here please.
The wording of your post leaves one thing unclear: did you merely decline to verify your fake diploma with teco when it came time to renew your arc, and thus leave voluntarily, or were you caught with the fake and forced to leave? If you just decided to leave on your own, then I think you won’t have a problem coming here with a real degree. All bets are off if you were caught with a forgery.

As long as you weren’t caught with a forgery and weren’t deported for using a forgery, you should be fine. Please add some clarifications.
You initially used a fake university diploma to fraudulently get yourself a work permit for one year as an English teacher, right?
When it came time to renew your teaching contract and work permit for another year, you were required to provide your diploma again? However, during the renewal period governmental officials decided that something didn’t look quite right and they required you to get it certified by a TECO from your home country or certified by the university before they would pass it again?
When you weren’t able to do it, you voluntarily left Taiwan. You simply decided not to renew your teaching contract, your work permit, and you returned to your country of origin. Is this correct?
Are all English teachers required to provide their original diplomas or certified copies every time they renew their work permits?
The short answer is that you are ok to use the 2nd real degree and the fake one has fallen down the memory hole. I talked to a FOAF and he has done this with different fake degrees. :eh:
It doesn’t seem from your post that you pushed the fake, but instead left Taiwan.
4. Are all English teachers required to provide their original diplomas or certified copies every time they renew their work permits?
This was the case before. You basically applied for each renewal as you would the first work permit. You used to have to get a physical with chest x-ray and stool sample every year too. Basically it depends on how savvy and smart the lady doing your paperwork is for the school. I’ve seen some make fake degrees for teachers and others not even know which ministry to call to get a work permit.

One thing that may have changed is that you may only have to show your degree once and renewing is easier, though I doubt it. Can anyone confirm or deny whether you need to show your degree each time?
