Fark You, Fark You, I Ruv You!

Nah, I’m confident most of this will be sorted by the time I’m drinking beers and listening to Fuji Rock. And well, if not, then I glow. Now that’d be cool for the raves at Fuji, eh? [/quote]
Well, I got my Fuji Rock damned loud, my aircon and cold beers, AND I’m still alive. Just a little miffed the skies weren’t glowing. Could have done without the yen hitting a four month high. Funny old world, eh?

Japan was SUPERB! I now think just perhaps I’ve devoted two decades of my life to the wrong language. What a conundrum!

For your viewing pleasure. A couple of very loud Japanese punk lasses in a duo called Tadzio. They played a small stage one night at the gates. From the sound they put out, I think they may have sapped one whole reactor’s worth of electricity all by their cute lonesome. Lurvely.

HG

They’re cute and most definitely fornicate-able, but what a godawful noise. I think I prefer the radiation.

As this talk of surviving is ironic given Tadzio was the beautiful lad who led the narrator to remain in plague infested Venice in Death In Venice.

Just sayin’ Huang.

I suspected a literate soul like your goodly self would see through my veneer there, MM. Still, i am also a big fan, and out of further interest, these two exuberant lasses are from Sendai.

Bismark, it’s a bad recording. It’s not easy to hear the lyrics, most of which is in EnJapanese anyway, but there’s a nice little teaser in there for those that can wade through the wailing guitar to the punctuated chorus - “Fark you, fark you, I ruv (love) you”. Makes me all funny in the trousers. Mind you, that could be nuke related.

HG

Quite OT, but where are those English teachers when you need them?
Shouldn’t someone have told them it’s “Fark, me, fark me, I ruv you”?
But then, Japanese English has to uphold its reputation of being at least is as good as Taiwanese English (that is, it is also not viable - with nod to that other thread about viability).

Nod noticed and acknowledged. And so were the many T-shirts and flags against nukes at Fuji Rock, but I’m guessing that’s to be expected given the demographic.

For your pleasure, that song is called NOmiso

Now I’m desperately attempting to wipe twenty years of mistaken Chinese study to ramp up my Japanese. Actually, although the levels of English were noticeably poor, I was surprised how a combination of sophisticated infrastructure, recognising the odd splashes of kanji and broken English made it incredibly easy to navigate Japan.

Damn, but I love the place. It was truly shocking landing here in HK and having to deal with wallowing, wailing Cantos after the sophistication, poise and grace of the Japanese. Even the ambulances and fire trucks have polite sirens!
