What’s the fastest way to go between Linkou and Taipei City?
Any bus recommendations? Trains? HSR to Taoyuan and transfer?

Chang Geng Hospital runs shuttles between its Taipei and Linkou. I believe they run 2 lines into Taipei, one to its Taipei branch on Dunhua N. Road and the other one to somewhere near Taipei main station, both with a couple of additional stops in the city (sorry, can’t pull the stops off top of my head at the moment). Bus fair was $30 as of 2 years ago so it might have gone up since then.
It depends on where you want to go.
If you want to go near Chang Gung Hospital, you’re in luck. You can get Chang Gung’s bus from Taipei CGMH on DunHua or the terminal near Taipei Main Station (about six months ago, the price was $35). SanChung Bus also runs buses on those routes ($40), but the one near Taipei CGMH goes alll the way to City Hall. Taoyuan Bus has a bus on the line to Taipei CGMH as well.
If you want to go to Linkou City, you would need to take the SanChong busses. They will not be cheap, though.
The ChangGeng Hospital buses are awesome!
