I am in the kinmen airport waiting to fly to tsipei. The ferry was good. Xiamen’s terminal looks like an airport. Very glossy and comfie, and no problems getting a ticket. The ferry itself was comfortable too. Kinmen itself is a lovely island. I couldnt get a flight out yesterday so i rented a scooter and drove around.

Ferry from Xiamen was 160rmb. Not sure how much from Kinmen.

Anyone know if this ferry is capacity controlled during holidays? Is it harder to get during Chinese holidays? Basically I had someone warn me about potentially having trouble using the ferry during holidays, but they are not local and are not sure if it’s an actual problem, just warning me in case.

I think you may have some issues. I was at the port in October and it was very busy. A lot of Taiwanese bringing goods to China now, the demand is high. I’ll talk to family and edit this post if I learn anything more.

Thanks! Asking about Qing Ming Festival in April so not the biggest holiday but still. Appreciate any insights!
